MOMMA
Music & Lyrics by Satori
Mateu
Getting all the toys, money, cars
and jewelry may be nice, but in the end, the small
and simple things are what really matter; like feeling
loved and knowing you are loved. I wrote this song
as a tribute to my mom, but also as a reminder to
moms around the world that sometimes, the simplest
things, a phone call to your son or daughter to let
them know how much you really love them, makes a world
of difference.
Momma, you were young and free
Filled with sorrow
You gave birth to me
But you couldn’t see
Who I was meant to be
Momma, you were seventeen
Not yet a woman
You gave up your needs
To be there for me
When I couldn’t be
Chorus:
All I need is love
For you to call me and say,
“You’re my favorite son.
And no matter what you do
I believe in you
And everything that you are
Makes me proud of you.”
Momma, it’s not to late you see
Every day, you’ve got
Your life to live
Don’t give up your dreams
You’re still young and free
Momma, can’t you see the truth
You can’t keep blaming
Life on fading youth
What do you want to do?
Each day is up to you
Chorus:
All I need is love
For you to call me and say,
“You’re my favorite son
And no matter what you do
I believe in you
And everything that you are
Makes me proud of you.”
All I need is love
For you to see in me
All that I can be
And all I need is your love
And for you to care
About the little things
That means so much
No matter what you think of you
I don’t need you to prove a thing
All I ever really wanted from you
Is to know how much you care
Repeat Chorus 2x
